High speed cameras can make anything look epic. Popped a big water balloon last Saturday? Cool story, bro. Wait, you filmed it in super slow motion? And it's in HD?! We're in, along with 50 million of our friends.
This is 2014. There's no reason we shouldn't be filming everything in super slow motion. He might not be with Nikon any more, but frankly, we still blame Ashton Kutcher.
For now, we'll have to settle for videos like the one at the top of this article. Thanks to super slow motion, we get to watch every millisecond of this train wreck as it plays out.
The video could serve as a public service announcement for lip reading. The ability to read lips is an underrated skill, and this female athlete is clearly terrible at it. Slow motion gives us a chance to see the wheels turning in her head when an off-screen friend tries to warn her.
A giant what?
A giant clam? He's humming taps? Running laps?
There was a giant man behind you, ma'am. He was running fast.
Everything seems like it will turn out just fine. In fact, we believe this could become Speed for the next generation.
