Want to See the Next Great QBs in Football? Check Out the Elite 11 Final
You don’t need a crystal ball to see who’s going to be the next big thing in football. All you need to do is check out who’s going to be at this weekend’s Elite 11 Finals.
The event, which takes place in Los Angeles, brings together the very best high school senior quarterbacks in the country. How good are these athletes? Consider that 10 of the past 11 quarterbacks to win the Heisman Trophy attended an Elite 11 event. The majority of NFL passers also are Elite 11 alumni. Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Matthew Stafford—all of these signal callers tested their skills in the Nation’s Premier Quarterback Competition.
Andrew Luck, shown here in his Stanford days, is just one of many NFL QBs who are Elite 11 alumni.
The athletes who’ve made it to the Elite 11 Finals represent the very best of the best. These Class of 2018 QBs were selected from Elite 11 Regional Events held across the country. Now those top performers will square off in three days of on-field drills, routes-on-air and other events that will improve their skills and deepen their understanding of the game.
“This is a camp-etition,” Super Bowl-winning QB and Elite 11 Coach Trent Dilfer said. “Part camp, learning. Part competition. I want to see who has it.”

“It,” or rather, “the It Factor,” is something you hear about a lot when you look into the Elite 11’s history. The event’s coaches look for those intangible, yet very real, traits that make competitors great. And history has proven their judgments accurate. The last 7 NFL QBs to be drafted first overall were all Elite 11 quarterbacks.
This year’s Elite 11 Final will be especially exciting, and not just because the event’s roster includes high-profile recruits committed to play at Division I football powerhouses like USC, Ohio State and Clemson. Student Sports, the organization that puts on the Elite 11 and other events, made a move that will allow their events to grow well beyond the 23,000 teenage athletes to whom they currently provide exposure. In an announcement dated June 2, 2017, Blue Star Sports—the industry leader in integrated sports software and player development tools—acquired Student Sports, poising the brands to serve many more athletes.
“For more than 30 years, we have always served students who compete in sports first and foremost,” said Andy Bark, CEO of Student Sports. “So when Rob [Wechsler, CEO of Blue Star Sports] and his team at Blue Star Sports inquired about us joining forces, we were all in, because working with millions of players, parents and coaches, rather than thousands, has been my goal all along.”
The Elite 11 Final kicks off Friday, June 2 and will run through Sunday, June 4. At the end of the event, the Elite 11 will be selected to compete at The Opening Finals. You can keep up to date on the event and other cool stuff by tuning in to Elite 11’s Twitter, Instagram and other social media channels.
